Tower 42 was designed by Richard Seifert for the National Westminster Bank (NatWest) and opened in 1981. It has a clear identity, one of only a handful of buildings in London identifiable by name rather than address.

The enhancements planned will provide an activated entrance that creates a true sense of arrival, that links the entrance, the retail and the offices to each other, and is unmistakably Tower 42. It will provide a generous office amenity with an inviting, visible reception, flexible meeting rooms and a range of informal seating areas.
